How do I create an opt-in database?
Text messaging is permission-based marketing. You cannot just send out text messages to random phone numbers or you will be in violation of the spam laws. If you are found to be doing so, Fontera will immediately suspend your account. We take spam very seriously.
You must get permission to send a text message to your consumer. Your database list can be compiled in a number of ways, but most importantly, you must get the consumer's permission to be included in your database. If you are not sure what this means, we urge you to get legal advice.

What do I do when a subscriber wants to cancel?
It's simple. You just go online and search for the name or phone number of the person and delete him or her from the database.
How many different contacts or groups can I create?
It's really unlimited. You can create hundreds of different groups with as many contacts in them as need be, these are all secured within your password-protected account.
How do I load the database of phone numbers?
You can load each cell phone number individually when you get the opt-in permission or, if there are lots of numbers, you can use an Excel spreadsheet, .csv or .txt file. Contact our customer service department if you're not sure how to do it.
How long does it take to send a message?
Less than 30 seconds once you get proficient at it.
Does the consumer pay to receive my messages?
In most cases, no he or she does not pay to receive your messages. Most consumers purchase packages of text messages from their carrier on a monthly basis. Hence, there is no incremental cost to receiving your message. In some instances, however, a consumer may have a text-enabled phone, but does not subscribe to a text package. In this case, the consumer is often charged .02 to .10 per message received.
How do I keep track of how many messages I've sent?
BulkTXT.com gives you a full history of all the messages you have sent along with delivery reports. All of this is accessible via the BulkTXT.com site.
How do I keep track of how many messages that I have left?
There is a real-time message counter on your BulkTXT.com site that shows you how many messages you have left to send and to receive at any time.
What if I need more text messages?
Just call or email our customer service department and we'll add messages to your account and charge the account accordingly.

What is the Difference between a Contact, a Group and a Database?
BulkTXT.com has its own Address Book feature that allows you to add your own contacts at any time. Each of these is called a CONTACT. You can then build a GROUP, by grouping some of your contacts together. You can make as many groups as you require and each CONTACT can be assigned to a GROUP. Groups can also be created when uploading excel / csv / or txt files that contain lists of phone numbers, sometimes referred to as DATABASES. You can add, edit or delete any contacts or groups once you have entered or uploaded them.
